SARA NEGISHI
Collaborative Pianist
Sara Negishi, a Filipino-Japanese music educator and pianist, exemplifies a blend of academic excellence and professional versatility. She earned her Diploma in Creative and Performing Musical Arts, majoring in Piano Performance in 2013, followed by a Bachelor's Degree in Music Education in 2016, both from the University of the Philippines. Since 2012, she has been a dedicated private piano instructor, sharing her expertise at international schools and music studios throughout Metro Manila.
Beyond her teaching roles, Sara has been a prominent accompanist for student exams and recitals, choral programs, concert events, and served as the long-term pianist for the UP Church of the Risen Lord’s Sanctuary Choir and the UP Cherubim and Seraphim Children’s Choir.
Her career expanded internationally when she moved to Tokyo, where she taught at an international preschool while continuing her piano instruction. During her four years in Tokyo, she was an active member of the Tokyo Union Church’s Sanctuary Choir and the Tokyo Embassy Choir.
Sara Negishi divides her time between Manila, Tokyo, and the United States with her husband who teaches Japanese at Western Washington University. Sara continues to immerse herself in the musical community performing in various choirs in Whatcom County further enriching each ensemble with her extensive experience and passion for music.
